What can I do?

It is days like these when I am supporting a grandparent who is going through such trauma and their grandchildren that I stop and ask myself, what on earth can I do?
Ok so I can be at the end of the phone or email , I can suggest, I can offer my sympathy but it sometimes is just not enough.
I witness injustice every single day, I need to be able to make more of a difference, somehow.
There are grandparents and grandchildren going to hell and back, relationships being trashed, trusts being broken and lives begin put in jeopardy.
How can I help?

  1. You ARE helping already! The website is just the start I believe and we need to spread th e word that there is a place where wronged grandparents can meet and find they are not alone. I never even thought about this need - until it happened to me - then we felt very, very alone. After all it must be us, no one else has these problems we thought. Slowly I found that the wider I discussed our situation the less unusual it was but everyone seemed to be secretive, embarrassed it was happening to them. Then I saw the One Show piece and at last we had a rallying point. I wonder how long it will be before you can change the name to the UK Grandparents support group?!.

Many thanks Jane, you are a lifeline.

  2. Thank you for your comment.
Our new website that will be going live shortly stipulates that we are a UK wide support group. We have grandparents all over the UK and in Australia, America, Canada who have linked up with others in their areas. The more we can enable grandparents to link up the more people will be able to give support to each other. Thanks again for your comment.
