Some of you will know that I am part of Gospel Generation Community Choir and we did a concert the other evening and sang,"Hold On," every time we sing it I think of my granddaughter, and all the grandchildren who are unable to be part of a parent or grandparents life.
It really is a case of "Hold On."
Gospel music originated from the States during the time of slavery.
Slaves would use the 'spiritual' as a form of communication to one another, to try to lift them up from the horrors of life as a slave, never believing 'that this was it.'
The songs of Gospel are all of hope, of a belief that things will improve, and I guess for me it is synonymous with being denied contact.
This is not, all there is.
If you are a grandparent who is feeling the utter despair of separation I would strongly recommend that you do something for yourself, such as joining a choir.
Singing is such a powerful thing to do, even if you aren't exactly pitch perfect!
Those of you in the Bristol area would be very welcome ,I know to join us.
Please remember, "This is not it."
