Don't let anger and hurt eat away at you.

A religious teacher and his student were walking along a riverside philosifying, when the teacher noticed an attractive young women in distress. She wanted to cross the river but it had become difficult and the water level had risen, the teacher scooped her up in his arms and carried her across putting her gently down on the bank.
The student felt it was not appropriate for a senior teacher to have acted that way.
They continued for several miles when the student said," I don't think you should have stooped to that level of carrying that young woman across the river."
The teacher said, "It took me just a few moments of my life to carry her,  you are still carrying her."

I think this story has a resonance in the way we deal with our feelings when we are denied contact with our grandchildren.
We of course have to carry our heartbreak initially, pick up others along the way who need our support, but if we hang on to our grief and anger we carry it around with us forever.
