As I posted earlier it is easy to become dragged down with all the negativity that abound over being denied contact.
We have two choices as I see it.
We can either carry on along the road to personal destruction by blaming, hating and being revengeful, or we think of our situation in a different way by using all that negative energy in a positive way.
I am asked all the time, what can I do?
When you have exhausted all ideas of communicating with your estranged families, whats left?
You could do exactly what I did in 2007 and set up a support group in your area.
It is not difficult and I can assure you that there is an enormous need for them all over the UK and beyond.
There are thousands of grandmothers and grandfathers who are feeling isolated and heartbroken and you can help them just by talking to them, offering a hand to help them.
You don't need to have any experience other than the most important one of being a grandparent who is denied contact.
I will help you all the way, and can send you leaflets and posters that you can use, we can spread BGSG all over the country.
You will know that when this happens to you, it feels as though you are the only ones in this situation, your friends get fed up with hearing about it so tune your heartbreak into supporting others, it is the greatest thing we can do for our grandchildren, to be able to say to them in the future, 'we did everything we could.'
Don't sink, swim.
